A reminder that this month at our next rally day we will having our AGM at lunch time August 21st at 12.00. We really need all members to attend so we can talk about any issues and discuss fees and fund raising.

The meeting will be at Peppercorn Park if the weather is fine. If the weather is bad it will be held at Jan Mellor’s house. 125 Axe Creek rd, Strathfieldsaye, at 1200.

Lessons will be held in the morning if anyone would like to participate, cost is $50 per person for 2 hrs. Please contact David Mellor for a booking.

They will be hosting a small Horse Expo with local presenters from the Bendigo region with the theme of “Developing Excellence in your Horsemanship.”

Presenters include :-

David Mellor from Silversand Horsemanship,

Rebecca Scott from GoBarefoot,

Judy McArthur Independent saddler fitter

Darren Lynch from Performance Horse Dentistry.

Each presenter will talk and demonstrate their speciality over a 1 hour session where people will be encouraged to ask questions and to take this opportunity to learn from local experts.

Bendigo Brumbies will be running a BBQ lunch and selling drinks on the day.

Each presenter will also have a booth where you can meet and talk about any specific questions you may have.

David Mellor will be selling Horsemanship equipment from Silversand. This will include Halters, lead ropes, training sticks, hats and DVD’s.

Rebecca Scott will have the full range of Easy Boot and Renegade hoof boots for you to look, touch and smell.

Entry is by gold coin donation. So bring a chair, a notebook and your camera and come to Peppercorn Park for an afternoon of Horses and Horse knowledge.

Presenters start at 1000.

Judy Mcarthur, a level 2 saddle fitter, has offered to come to our rally day and give a talk and demonstration on correct saddle fitting commencing at 12:00pm.
 
As a special offer to all Brumby members on the day, she will be available to do an individual saddle fit and adjustment on your own horse.

The cost of a regular saddle fit is normally $85.00,  Judy is offering a discount price of $65.00 for all Brumby members.

Judy will be available on the day for individual fittings, and anyone wanting to take up this special offer needs to make a booking with me.

I personally recommend Judy as Bendigo’s best saddle fitter and exclusively use her for my own horses.

Club president and local Silversand Instructor David Mellor will be conducting a 2 day Horsemanship clinic on April 16 & 17 2011. The clinic will cover all aspects of Horsemanship and is aimed at the beginner and intermediate students.

 Currently all rider positions are full but if you are interested you can be placed on the waiting list in case of cancellations.

Auditor positions are available. Cost is $35 per day or $50 for the 2 days. We will start at 0930. Sessions will be 3 hrs morning and afternoon.

We are currently taking submissions for member profiles and also stories of what you have achieved since being in the Bendigo Brumbies, for both yourself and your horse.

We believe this club has a lot to offer and want to show it off to the world as a showcase on like minded people getting together for a common goal (in this case better natural horsemanship for anyone).
